The chapter business meetings are held and governed by Robert’s Rules of Order. Committee reports are presented along with old and new business.
Brothers meet to socialize, plan projects, check on each other and share stories.
During the school year, our Lunch Buddy program takes place on the third Thursday of each month.

An annual golf tournament held by the Kappa Foundation of Columbia, SC as a fundraiser to provide scholarships to graduating high school seniors.
The chapter’s annual fundraiser dinner and dance at the South Carolina State Fair Grounds. An eagerly anticipated formal social function both locally and regionally, and a favorite kick-off to the holiday season.

A program marking the founding of Kappa Alpha Psi® Fraternity, Inc. on January 5, 1911 at Indiana University in Bloomington — 116 years. Open to brothers, families, friends, the Divine Nine and the community.
A program marking the chartering of the Columbia (SC) Alumni Chapter on February 2, 1947 — 80 years — together with the presentation of the white jacket to brothers who have attained 50 years in the Fraternity. Open to brothers, families, friends, the Divine Nine and the community.
The Fraternity’s national convention, hosted by Grand Chapter. Delegates from chapters across the United States and abroad gather for the business of the Fraternity, awards and fellowship.
Held annually to culminate the training and mentoring seminars open to high school juniors and seniors. Those who successfully complete the program can earn a scholarship, sent to the institution named by the participant once enrollment is verified.
A program held annually to recognize and celebrate the successful completion of the year-long mentoring program.
An observance of the Senior Kappa Affairs Committee that allows brothers 60 and above to visit homebound brothers and community members in their homes, residential care, assisted living and nursing facilities. The week usually ends with a SKAC luncheon.
An annual event that brings together chapter brothers and their invited guests for fun and fellowship.
An annual banquet held by members of the Divine Nine to promote fellowship among the membership.
The chapter’s internal, annual strategic meeting where leadership sets priorities, budgets, program goals and operational direction.
A cook-out for all chapter members and their immediate families, including widows of brothers who have joined the Chapter Invisible. A significant part of this festive occasion is the awarding of scholarships to high school seniors by the Kappa Foundation of Columbia, SC.
