The Kappa Foundation of Columbia, SC, was established on April 5, 2013. Dedicated to championing educational opportunities, the foundation provides scholarships and organizes an annual golf tournament to raise necessary funds. Through financial assistance and community engagement, the Kappa Foundation aims to make a positive impact on individuals and the local community. The foundation’s mission focuses on supporting the educational needs of public-school students and college-bound youth, especially those from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. By promoting activities and awarding scholarships, it enables the youth in the community to reach their full potential, becoming successful and productive citizens. Additionally, the Kappa Foundation supports community-based organizations, programs, and activities designed to enhance the lives of needy individuals within the South Carolina Midlands region. Their dedicated efforts ensure that education and opportunity are accessible to all, fostering a brighter future for the community.
The nationally recognized Kappa Beautillion (pronounced bō-til’yen) Militaire was developed as a local response to The Guide Right Program, which is a national service directive of Kappa Alpha Psi. Since its inception in 1976, this program has become a landmark experience for those who have participated and has since been adopted by a multitude of other Kappa alumni chapters across the country.
The Kappa Beautillion exists to provide extra-curricular educational experiences to Columbia-area junior and senior high school males. The eight-month program, which takes place outside the regular classroom environment, complements the normal educational exposure the participants receive.
